Call us for a brief discussion of your situation

We evaluate the suitability of mediation for your dispute

We then contact the other party(s) and arrange a mediation date/time

All parties receive from us an Agreement to Mediate (to be signed and returned)

Depending on the dispute we may ask for summary information from the parties or ask to meet with parties prior to mediation

On the day of mediation we start with an introduction that will explain the mediation process

We mediate and caucus until we find resolution - usually between 3 to 6 hours.

We summarize the agreement reached

Parties may agree to +-72 hours for review by counsel

Settlement Agreements form a binding understanding between all parties.

Our Mediation Services:

Litigation Mediation

Studies have shown that over 75%+ of mediated cases settle within the first 24 hours of mediation. The reason why mediation is so effective is that it provides both parties with:

Huge $ cost savings. For example a basic divorce mediation can be settled for $1200 (excluding legal review fees) vs. legal costs of $25 000+ for a divorce trial.

Timely & expedited resolution. For example a civil matter such as a basic insurance claim can be mediated to settlement within 3-4 hours.

Privacy for each party. All communication during mediation is priviledged and cannot be used as evidence in court. All parties and the mediator are bound by confidentiality agreements. Court proceedings are usually conducted on a public basis with "open" records.

Control over both the process and outcome for each party. In trial, when a decision is left to a Judge, no party can be assured of the outcome. This is in direct contrast with mediation where parties determine the settlement.

Both lawyer & their clients win with mediation. Counsel receives early compensation and demonstates to their clients a commitment for speedy & cost efficient resolution. Parties are spared huge costs, time delays and loss of control of the final outcome. Virtually any legal matter will benefit from mediation.

It may happen that parties find agreement on e.g. 80% of the issues but cannot agree on e.g the remaining 20%. In cases such as these we alo provide an Arbitration Service. In Arbitration the parties can ask the mediator (who now understands the issues after the mediation) to arbitrate the final e.g. 20% of unresolved issues. In such a case the mediator will end the formal mediation process, advise each party of the arbitration process and then act as an Arbitrator.

Workplace Mediation

Virtually all conflict and disputes in the workplace can be resolved by mediation. The economic costs of workplace conflict can be very high. These risks can be mitigated with mediation, the results often being greater productivity. We mediate employee-employee, employee-employer and employer-union disputes. We also facilitate Union-Management negotiations. We provide fact finding, facilitation and contract negotiation services.

Not for Profit and Faith Based Mediation

We understand that not for profit and faith based organizations have unique conflict resolution needs. rest assured that your mediator will be skilled and sensitive.

Family Mediation

We mediate divorce, division of assets, custody, parental plans & child support. Our goal is to ensure that the best interest of children are always maintained. We assist all parties (parents) through the complicated maze of seperation. We are always mindful that an amicable on-going working relationship between parents is desirable where children are involved.

We mediate family disputes e.g. parents-children, estates or disputes amongst siblings.
